YOKOHAMA, JAPAN (October 9, 2020) – Mitsubishi Power, a major subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, will present its initiatives for hydrogen power generation at the Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting 2020, to be held in an online format on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

The Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting, sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), was first held in 2018 to promote the utilization of hydrogen on a global scale, and to encourage countries to coordinate their efforts and pursue further cooperation. At the first meeting, participants adopted the “Tokyo Statement” expressing a shared understanding of the importance of international cooperation, including harmonization of regulations and standards, and the furthering of international joint research. At the second meeting in 2019, the “Global Action Agenda” was announced, outlining specific actions to achieve the Tokyo Statement.

This third meeting, in consideration of the situation with the coronavirus, will be held in an online format, with addresses from national government officials, corporations, and local government bodies. Mitsubishi Power will introduce its hydrogen-related technologies for the decarbonization of energy, and present its global initiatives, during the Industrial Session/Hydrogen Hub Platform.
